What you need before you tow
Read this once and pickup takes ten minutes. Everything here is verified at the yard before you leave.
You are solely responsible for confirming that your tow vehicle, hitch, ball, wiring and brake controller are rated for the trailer and the load you intend to haul. When in doubt, call us at (254) 555-0110 before booking.
Driver's license
- Valid, unexpired driver's license in the renter's name
- Renter must be 21 or older
- Name on the license must match the reservation and payment card
- Additional drivers must be added to the agreement before pickup
Tow vehicle
- Manufacturer tow rating at or above the loaded trailer weight
- Factory or professionally installed hitch receiver
- Correct ball size — 2" or 2-5/16" depending on the unit
- Working tail, brake and turn signals through the trailer plug
Electrical & brakes
- 4-pin flat for light single-axle units
- 7-pin RV blade for any trailer with electric brakes
- Functioning brake controller required on all braked trailers
- Safety chains crossed and secured to the receiver
Loading & securement
- Never exceed the trailer's GVWR or payload rating
- Keep 60% of the load weight forward of the axle center
- Use rated straps or chains — bungee cords are not acceptable
- Tarp loose material such as debris, mulch or gravel
Prohibited use
- Hazardous, flammable or illegal materials
- Livestock or passengers in or on the trailer
- Towing outside Texas without written approval
- Subletting or transferring the trailer to another party
Return expectations
- Return by the scheduled time — a 2-hour grace period applies
- Swept out and free of debris, mud and trash
- Return inspection with photos takes about 10 minutes
- Deposit released after inspection, typically within 2 business days
